Bill Gates - The Interview

In his latest blog Dale Dougherty wrote about Bill Gates from another perspective than usual.

"...
This year, Gates made an important and potentially difficult transition at age 52, leaving Microsoft as CEO and devoting more of his time and energy to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It's a shift in focus, moving from defining strategy for Microsoft to a broader strategy for improving the lives of the world's poor. Bill Gates exemplifies what Tim O'Reilly is talking about when he says that those of us in the tech industry should increasingly "focus on stuff that matters."
..."

Interesting discussion about Microsoft, software, technology, vision and much more.

Take the time and enjoy.

iPhone gets virtual Windows desktop from Citrix

One additional step for iPhone on its long road to be 'business ready'.
As reported in The Register, virtual desktop provider Citrix has, again, announced it'll be developing a client for the iPhone, providing the option of a Windows desktop on an iPhone: albeit at a distance.

Although Windows is not designed to be viewed on such a small screen, it may be very useful to have remote access to your Windows machine when you really really need to.

Windows Mobile on the iPhone 3G

It was just a matter of time until someone would hack the iPhone, not to change the mobile carrier, but to run another OS on the iPhone.

In a Blog I saw today, Erik Kristiansen, shows his 'boot-camp' version for the iPhone.

It would be interesting to see how cross-OS capabilities would effect sales of phones hardware. Will iPhone be the best device to run Windows Mobile?

10 reasons why I switched to Mac (MacBook Pro)

  1. So I could start my day with a smile and not with "Control" "Alt" "Delete".
  2. So I will not have only 1 hour of power.
  3. So I will not have to wait 5 minutes every time my laptop is waking up.
  4. So I could use my 24" Screens without the need to upgrade drivers and boost my docking stations beyond their limits.
  5. So I could open Photoshop files and get work done within less than 30 minutes.
  6. So I will not have the IT department pushing me "Critical Updates" every other day. (Especially the Excel French dictionary…)
  7. So my digital camera and I will be friends again.
  8. So I could run “Windows” within a small window (just for eMail and other must have Enterprise applications).
  9. So I could have videoconferences without any cables.
  10. So I would feel like I care about it and write this list.

:-)
