So many things 'fly by' me when I'm working. I get to know Websites, technologies, design ideas and people all the time. This Blog is about these types of information/knowledge we all gather, while we are working...
I am presenting in the upcoming “Whose Cloud Is It Anyway?" event. I will demo Veodia’s services and solutions and will talk about what is unique about the way Veodia is using the ‘Cloud’.
TechCrunch reported about Innovid (and brought their site down...) new announced capability to "help advertisers move away from the pre-roll with technology that allows for things like virtual product placements inside videos and turning entire surfaces into clickable canvases."
The visuals are great, but even more interesting is the multi-layer content capability as shown in this image:
Great to see innovation from Israel.
Would be interesting to see if Veodia could assist them with content creation.
As I opened my favorite Web Radio I've noticed that they have updated the web UI to match the iPhone UI. Main changes seems to be a tile view of station and album images, instead of the text list we saw before and a framing some lists and menus. I like.
In recent weeks, I've worked hard with the Veodia team releasing the new version of the service as well as providing everyone with the ability to try the amazing video platform we've developed.
We had a good plan and the team executed very well. But as always, many things had to change at the last minute and many last minute changes were more costly then planed.
I saw this movie long time ago on Assaf Arkin's blog, and although I believe we did much better (then shown in the movie), I would like to express my thanks to the team and acknowledge their efforts.
Last night Veodia released a new version of its video platform for business. In addition to 'enterprise' features, such as SSO, security, reports and integration to leading collaboration, sales, training and other systems, Veodia also offers a free trial of it 'Veodia Widget'. Now you can register to the Veodia service and start uploading and recording high quality videos directly into the 'cloud'.
In addition. Now you can register and try the Widget for free. We added the ability to share the video by direct link or by an embed code. I started using it to add video to my Twitter messages.
In the latest report by Ted Schadler (Forrester's Vice President and Principal Analyst), Ted covers several companies and video solutions for the Enterprise.
"...Information workers have been posting confidential videos to YouTube because they've had few alternatives. Fortunately, in the past few months, three vendors - Google, Microsoft, and Veodia - have introduced services or products for securely hosting videos with enterprise access controls.
These services give information and knowledge management professionals a way to harness the power of corporate and employee-generated video to teach, inspire, and capture knowledge.
This report introduces the business scenarios, platform checklist, and vendors for employee-generated video..."
Great validation for Veodia's vision and amazing execution capabilities!
I was working on demos for Veodia most of the day. Cool stuff I could share in few days. So, as I was doing all these recording, I decieded to do one short message for the Blog. Because I can.
So what are the differences between Web 2.0 and Enterprise 2.0? So many opinions and Blogs about is, so, let me share my short answers, based on who is asking...
The kids version Web 2.0 is where daddy plays, Enterprise 2.0 is where daddy works.
The car fan version Web 2.0 is as if your car was shown on 'pimp my ride'. It is fully customized to your taste, so it is cool, noisy and unique. Enterprise 2.0 is like as if you car was shown on 'Top Gear'. It is in mass-production, cost a lot and performs as good as it looks. The philosophical version
Web 2.0 is a 21st century culture looking for a business (model), Enterprise 2.0 is a business looking for a 21st century culture. photo credits
The IT version
Web 2.0: "What is IT?" Enterprise 2.0: "What is Web 2.0"
(Well, some of them do get it...) The Mash-Up version
Web 2.0 is where you can mash-up anything you want. Just drag-n-drop, copy some embed codes, updated your blog and sync your twitter updates. Enterprise 2.0 is where you expect to log-in to one system and have everything integrated and aligned with your business process.
The Cloud Computing version Web 2.0 and Enterprise 2.0 companies use cloud computing. While Web 2.0 companies are looking for low costs and scalability, Enterprise 2.0 companies are looking also for security, redundancy/recovery capabilities and good PR...

Feel free to use them if you like. Comments are welcome. E.T.
I had the plasure to visit my friend Eliad at the Education.com office. We had some good time and did a design review for their site (see previous note) and Veodia's future products...
I am proud that Veodia is enabling SUN's informal learning initiatives through the SUN Learning Exchanges. SUN employees uses Veodia to record and share videos of critical information needed to improve knowledge transfer and collaboration, allowing them access to the right information at the right time.
Next week (6:00 PM - 8:30 PM October 14, 2008) I plan to attend the SDForum to discuss mobile media.
This panel will focus on mobile and technology trends and what do these trends mean for media, how media companies are going mobile and what the next generation of devices and content will look and feel like. What are the devices of the future? What content will people expect to have and what will they use? What new technologies and services are coming our way? Who cares and who's investing now for the future?
For the last 3 years, Office 2.0 has been a great opportunity for me to meet smart people, to learn about new technologies, and to experience new ways of getting business done.
I always look for the ‘human touch’ that's associated with this event.
This year, communication has reached a new level. We are using a wiki to communicate and exchange ideas, and now we can make it even more personal — using video notes.
Veodia is again a proud sponsor, not only enabling the event with video recording of each session, but also allowing every participant to record his or her own videos — making Office 2.0 communication even more personal.
